カナダ沖地震によるハワイの津波警報は、1:04am 津波注意報に変わり、4:00amに解除になった。マウイ島のカフルイ海岸線で最大5フィート(1.54m)の津波が確認されたらしい。

UPDATE 4:00am: A tsunami advisory for Hawaii was canceled early Sunday by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. Scientists at the center canceled the advisory just before 4 a.m. For more information, click here.
UPDATE 1:04am: A tsunami warning that had been in effect for all Hawaiian Islands since just after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday has been downgraded to a tsunami advisory by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, allowing residents who were evacuated from coastal inundation zones to return to their homes.
UPDATE 12:40am: The Coast Guard Captain of the Port of Honolulu is working with state and county officials to ensure public health and safety, Saturday. The Coast Guard captain of the port has ordered an evacuation of Honolulu Harbor and is urging mariners to monitor VHF channel 16 for information regarding when they can re-enter the harbor. UPDATE 12:30am: Mayor Peter Carlisle: We still have not given the all clear. There have been indications of wave activity, particularly on the big island. We want to make certain that it is nothing to be concerned about. People should not be going back yet; we still don’t know what the tsunami is going to do.
UPDATE 12:25am: A tsunami warning that was issued for the Oregon and Alaska shoreline areas has been canceled. The tsunami warning that was issued for the Hawaiian Islands remains in effect at this hour.
UPDATE 12:20am on Sunday, 10/28/2012: Donalyn Dela Cruz, Governor Neil Abercrombie’s Press Secretary: No report of any significant damage yet. Wailoa Harbor on the Big Island reporting 4 foot wave surges every six minutes.
UPDATE 11:40pm: Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle: “The situation will be evaluated again in thirty minutes. Using the best information we have to make an approximation of time.” Err on the side of safety. Do not go back anywhere into an inundation zone or coastal area. We will make certain that the danger has passed.
UPDATE 11:21pm: Gerard Fryer of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center: Evacuation of all zones may not have been necessary. “Overprediction.” Japan tsunami wave swells were 20 minutes apart. Largest wave seen so far tonight is 5 feet, from the top of one wave to the bottom of the next, in Kahului.
UPDATE 11:15pm: Governor Neil Abercrombie is in a teleconference with other county leaders to assess any possible damage reports.
UPDATE 10:57pm: Hawaiian Airlines canceled Maui-bound flight, HA516, that was slated to depart Honolulu at 10 p.m. and flight HA515, which was slated to leave Maui for Honolulu later this evening. For more information, click here.
UPDATE 10:52pm: Gerard Fryer of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center: Makapuu tide level rose one foot, then rapidly dropped 3 feet. Typically the first wave is not the largest. Says they don’t issue the all clear, just the warnings.

UPDATE 10:32pm: Marine Corps Base Hawaii has evacuated a tsunami evacuation zone of approximately 1,700 Marines, sailors and their families. Military police are clearing the neighborhood to ensure all families have evacuated.
UPDATE 10:29pm: Sirens were sounded again in Kihei at around 10:29pm.
UPDATE 10:27pm: The first tsunami waves are predicted to arrive at any minute.
UPDATE 10:26pm: No evacuations are in effect at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. There is currently no threat to the base population. Reminder to stay away from the water. Updated information will be shared as it becomes available.
UPDATE 10:17pm: On Kauai, please note that the King Kaumualii Elementary School holding area is full. Persons in the Lihue and Hanamaulu area should go to Wilcox Elementary School if they need to be in a holding area.
UPDATE 10:14pm: Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle: Our concern now is those still in cars stuck in traffic in inundation zones. It might be a better idea to get out of car and evacuate on foot. Assess your own situation. Anyone still in an evacuation center, take immediate steps for your safety.

UPDATE: 10:06pm: This is a Civil Defense message for Saturday October 27, 2012 at 9:48 PM HST. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a Tsunami Warning for the State of Hawaii. An Earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 has occurred near British Columbia, Canada. A tsunami warning is in effect for the Island of Hawaii. The first wave has an estimated time of arrival on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 10:28 PM HST. All low coastal areas are at risk and must be evacuated immediately. Wave heights cannot be predicted and the series of waves may last several hours. Be prepared to remain out of the evacuated area for an extended period of time. I say again, you are ordered to evacuate all low-lying coastal areas immediately. We request that anyone not in the evacuation area stay off the roads and highways to facilitate evacuation efforts. Stay tuned to your local radio station for updates. You will be notified as conditions change. This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense.
UPDATE 10:04pm: Hawaiian Telcom reminds the public to keep their use of telephones to urgent needs only, and then keep those calls as short as possible.
Circuits need to be kept as open as possible for first responders and other emergency needs.
Hawaiian Telcom has activated our emergency operations, and we are carefully monitoring our network. Our network is fully operational but experiencing high call volume.

UPDATE 9:42pm: Lahainaluna High School gymnasium on Maui is now open as an evacuation center. Also, as of 9:30 p.m. all roads connecting to tsunami evacuation zones on Maui have been CLOSED. Repeat, all roads connecting to tsunami evacuation zones have been closed as of 9:30 p.m.
UPDATE 9:26pm: Emergency Medical Services officials asking drivers to stay off the roads if they are not evacuating an inundation zone, as the traffic is impairing their ability to respond to emergencies.
UPDATE 9:20pm on Saturday, 11/28/2012: Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle says those on higher ground should remain there so as not to impede those trying to evacuate, and that no matter where you are. to take precautions. Carlisle is speaking live on the Hawaii News Now Livestream.
State Civil Defense officials have issued a tsunami warning for the state of Hawaii following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake near the Queen Charlotte Islands off the coast of British Columbia on Saturday evening.
The state Civil Defense Agency says any individuals in inundation zones should evacuate immediately.
The earthquake happened at just after 5 p.m. Hawaii time. It had a depth of 17 kilometers.
According to the Department of Emergency Management, a tsunami has been generated that could cause damage along coastlines of all islands in the state of Hawaii. Urgent action should be taken to protect lives and property.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources says that anyone with a boat in a state small boat harbor should be taking their vessel outand getting to deep water before the first wave hits. Be sure to have working radio, water, food, fuel and be prepared to stay in the deep water until there is an all clear issued.
Anyone who is camping at a state park on a coastline needs to evacuate right away
The first waves are expected to hit Hawaiian shores at approximately 10:28 p.m. on Saturday..
